See Zig Zag Lights Illuminate The Mountains During Jackson Hole’s Nye Torchlight Parade

Published on November 15, 2018

New Year’s Eve is always a time for celebration, whether you ring it in with a glass of champagne, a kiss, or a fantastic fireworks show. In Jackson Hole, you can do all these and more when you head to their annual torchlight and fireworks parade.

A BRIGHT NEW YEAR

To honor the area’s tradition of skiing and snowboarding, Snow King Mountain hosts an annual parade to light up the mountain with torches and fireworks. Snow King Ski Patrol, ski school students, and more take a lift ride up to the top of Snow King Mountain during the event, with glimmering torches in tow. Then they zig-zag down the slopes to create a magnificent light show for those watching below. At the end of the torch part of the parade, the city takes the lights to the sky in an impressive fireworks show over the mountaintops.

*The torchlight parade begins at 6:30pm and the fireworks show starts at 7pm.

CONTINUE THE CELEBRATION

The party doesn’t have to stop after all the ooh’s and ah’s of the fireworks. Jackson Hole is filled with restaurants and bars that welcome New Year festivities. One of our favorite spots to grab a post-midnight drink is the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. An iconic destination in Jackson, this saloon-style establishment will make you feel like you’re right in the midst of an Old Western movie.

REST AND RELAXATION

When you’re ready to retreat to the warmth of your bed, head back to the Snow King Resort where you’ll have the option of kicking back in a luxury condo or guestroom with an outdoor hot tub. Sleep easy knowing you’ll have ski-in-ski-out access to Snow King Mountain in the morning!
